Ballet Play

Ballet Play combines dancing, story-telling, and imagining. Children gain practice working together, following directions, and exploring shapes and actions in a creative and playful manner. They develop strength, flexibility, rhythm, and coordination. Students experience the fun of moving freely to music, which enhances the development of self-expression and musicality. Incorporating props and costumes, class members dance and act out a story for the last class of the session for families and friends.
Attire:
-Children should wear clothing that allows them to move around freely.
-Ballet slippers, sneakers, or non-slip shoes are recommended.
Ballet and Tap/Jazz Dance

Students develop a strong understanding of basic ballet and tap/jazz steps and vocabulary through age-appropriate exercises that emphasize body awareness. Explorations with imagery, music, and movement nurture self-expression, discovery, and making choices. Class members perform two dances for the last class of the session for families and friends.
Attire:
-Children wear leotards and tights or leggings (or shorts) and a form-fitting top.
-Ballet slippers (any color) are required.
Ballet and Creative Dance

Students develop a strong understanding of basic ballet steps and vocabulary through age-appropriate exercises that emphasize body awareness. The three main elements of the class are: building skills, exploring movement and music, and performing dances.
Attire:
-Children wear black leotards and tights or black leggings (or shorts) and a form-fitting top.
-Ballet slippers (any color) are required.
Dance Theatre Workshop

Children learn theatre and dance skills as they exercise their imaginations, using their bodies and voices to act out skits and stories. The activities provide a natural platform for strengthening confidence, communication, language, and social skills, as well as team-building. Students rehearse and present scenes and skits using costumes and props during the end-of-session showcase for families and friends.
Attire:
-Children wear black leotards and tights or black leggings (or shorts) and a form-fitting, black top.
-Ballet slippers or jazz shoes (any color) are required. (Students may choose to borrow shoes from our collection. Please ask.)
