It has been one year since I moved to North Carolina and almost two years since I've written a blog post. Back in the pre-pandemic days, I had set a goal to devote more time to writing and more time to participating in dance classes rather than "teaching" them. Those plans changed when I had a fluke pedestrian accident walking in a crowded crosswalk on my way to a morning ballet class on October 23, 2019. Long story short, I had a serious hamstring rupture, and after surgery, was off my feet and pretty much house-bound for almost three months. Just as I was getting back to work, using crutches...COVID arrived. (No explanation needed on that!)
With a one-and-a-half to two-year projected recovery time due to the surgery, I'm thrilled to say I am right on track. I can now sit on the floor, I can ride a bike, and I can dance. I am grateful.
So, here I am, living in Hillsborough, NC. My family's 700-mile move went surprisingly smoothly, having happened right in the middle of the pandemic. We are fortunate, thankful, and happy.
